About our ratings

A member of the Definiciti review team will observe the property and facilities over a 24-hour period. Exclusive hotels of great distinction will carry the symbol of ‘World of Excellence’ and are rated by Definiciti as the finest in the world. Ratings are based on the following criteria: 

• Subject to a standardised global benchmark
• Independently rated and not subject to the national hotel rating system
• Reviewed and rated annually
• Based on quality, facilities & services
• Hotel, Golf and Spa facilities are each rated individually out of 10
• Where a hotel has both Golf and Spa facilities the maximum score will be 20 and this is reached by taking the average three
